About Me

I am Julio C. Spinelli — scientist, engineer, and one of the inventors behind Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT). At CPI → Guidant (later acquired by Boston Scientific), I led the team that transformed resynchronization from a theoretical idea into a practical, life-saving therapy. Earlier concepts of simultaneous ventricular-triggered pacing of both ventricles — most notably advanced by Dr. Morton Mower — proved physiologically unworkable, as they ignored the propagation sequence of electrical activation and the septal contribution to both ventricles. Our group recognized that true resynchronization required independent, programmable atrioventricular and interventricular delays to optimize the collision of wavefronts within the left ventricle and maximize contractile efficiency.

In 1990, we brought this new approach to Dr. Angelo Auricchio, then a junior fellow, and Dr. David Kass at Johns Hopkins University. Both were initially skeptical — Dr. Kass even designed the Circulation study intending to disprove the concept — but the surprising results changed his view completely. Their subsequent validation helped establish CRT as a cornerstone of modern heart-failure therapy. I served as Scientist, Manager, Fellow, and Senior Fellow at Guidant and Boston Scientific, leading research that underpins most pacemakers and defibrillators through cross-licensing. A lesser-known yet crucial achievement from my team was the development of error-correction architectures that protect implantable devices from cosmic-ray-induced bit flips and solar-storm radiation.

After leaving Boston Scientific, I was an early investor in Action Medical, where as Chief Technology Officer in collaboration with Dr. Daniel Ortega and Dr. Qingsheng Zhu, I advanced His-bundle pacing — demonstrating that physiological stimulation of the His-Purkinje system could restore synchrony in both systolic and diastolic dysfunction, achieving a more natural contraction pattern than conventional biventricular CRT. Although the technology was later acquired and shelved, it remains one of the most physiologically complete extensions of CRT ever demonstrated.

Beyond medicine, I explore the foundations of physics — proposing a discretized proper-time framework that resolves the t = 0 singularity through Planck-scale temporal quantization. See also my ORCID profile for related publications and ongoing research.

In 1990 we brought this approach to Dr. Angelo Auricchio and Dr. David Kass (Johns Hopkins). Initially skeptical, Kass designed the Circulation study hoping to disprove it — but the results proved the concept and helped establish CRT as a cornerstone of modern heart-failure therapy. My team also created radiation-tolerant error-correction systems that protect today’s implantable devices.

Later, as CTO of Action Medical, I advanced His-bundle pacing, showing it could naturally resynchronize hearts with systolic or diastolic dysfunction. Though later shelved, the work remains the most complete physiological extension of CRT.

Beyond medicine, I research a discretized proper-time framework resolving the t = 0 singularity through Planck-scale quantization. More at my ORCID profile.

How to Understand the Star Coordinate System

The equatorial system allows us to stablish the position of any space object if we know where Polaris is. In the Norther hemisphere Polaris is very close to the celestial North or 90 degrees Declination. Concentric circles from Polaris establish the Declinations that go down to zero at the equator and to -90 degrees at the celestial North. The video explains this in a very easy to underformat and also explains the usually difficult concept of Ascention, that is measured from 0 to 24 hours counterclockwise.

3i ATLAS is not a natural comet
3i ATLAS is not a natural comet

3I/ATLAS is not just another weird comet — it’s a statistical crime scene. In this updated analysis I take Avi Loeb’s brand-new list of 13 “anomalies” (from the Jupiter Hill-radius flyby to the Wow!-direction, Ni-rich plume, extreme polarization, and engine-like acceleration) and push them through a fully quantified Bayesian Monte Carlo model. The result: if 3I/ATLAS is a random natural object, the odds of getting this exact bundle of features are about 1 in 4 × 10 29 4×10 29 — far rarer than getting the same face on a 20-sided die thrown 20 times, over and over, for the age of the universe. This paper asks the uncomfortable but unavoidable question: what kind of generative process, natural or otherwise, actually makes such an object “easy”?

Another gigantic -130 Km- Object is approaching, should you worry?
Another gigantic -130 Km- Object is approaching, should you worry?

In this article UN271 serves as a guided tour through modern comet science. We summarize what is known about its orbit, size, composition, and unexpectedly distant activity from contemporary surveys and space observatories. We outline the standard Oort--cloud scenario, but keep it explicitly in the category of model rather than established fact, and we discuss how the Milky Way's gravitational tide can reshape loosely bound comet orbits over millions of years. We place UN271 in context by comparing it with familiar comets such as Hale--Bopp and C/2017~K2, and with interstellar visitors like 1I/ʻOumuamua and 2I/Borisov. Along the way we touch on the ``bubble'' that the solar wind inflates in the surrounding interstellar medium, the heliosphere, whose outer magnetic and plasma boundaries UN271's ancestors almost certainly crossed.

Cassandra Leaked Images of 3i ATLAS much better than NASA HIRISE Camera
Cassandra Leaked Images of 3i ATLAS much better than NASA HIRISE Camera

This paper looks at a simple but important question: do a pair of leaked pictures of the object 3I/ATLAS really show the same thing as later, independent telescope images? 3I/ATLAS is an interstellar visitor that passed through the Solar System in 2025 and showed unusually complex jets of gas and dust. Months after the encounter, two images known as the ``Cassandra leak'' appeared online, claiming to show the object near perihelion. We compare those leaked images with several later pictures collected by professional and advanced amateur astronomers and presented by Avi Loeb in two public articles. After rotating and scaling the images so that the bright core and main jets line up, we find that the leaked pictures and the later images share the same overall pattern: a bright central region, a strong sunward ``anti-tail,'' a long tail in the opposite direction, and a pair of jets forming a clear ``V'' shape in the upper-right part of the image. This level of agreement would be very hard to get by accident if the leaked images were invented without access to the later data. The comparison does not prove beyond doubt that the Cassandra images are authentic, but it makes that explanation much more plausible than a random forgery. If the Cassandra images are real, they add one more unusual feature to an already long list of odd properties for 3I/ATLAS. Together with earlier work on the statistics of these anomalies, this raises a deeper question: what kind of natural or artificial process could produce this whole bundle of features so easily?

Mathematical Proof that Non-human intelligence exists
Mathematical Proof that Non-human intelligence exists

This paper combines 23 independent NHI/UAP cases from 1947–2025 using a transparent Bayesian approach. Each case gets a credibility score based on witness credentials, cross-modality corroboration (e.g., radar+visual), physical/biological evidence, internal consistency, and independence from other cases. We multiply the complements of these probabilities to estimate the chance that all cases are false (hoax/error/delusion), and conservatively inflate that chance by 20% for cultural cross-talk. Using updated scores that reflect a PhD bioengineer’s genomic review of public NCBI/NLM data on the Nazca remains (supporting a non-human lineage), the probability that all 23 cases are false is about 3.33 × 10−12. Sensitivity analyses show robustness to case removal and even to doubling the correlation penalty. A Monte Carlo using Beta priors yields a median adjusted probability near 10−14. Together these results strongly support that Non-Human Intelligence exists and has been present for a long time.

Bayesian Probability Analysis strongly suggests 3i ATLAS is not a regular Comet
Bayesian Probability Analysis strongly suggests 3i ATLAS is not a regular Comet

3I/ATLAS is a small object from outside our Solar System that passed through in 2025. At first it looked like a strange comet, but as astronomers collected more data, it showed many unusual features at the same time. Its path through space is almost perfectly lined up with the plane of the planets; it flew close to several planets in a “just so” way; its gas is rich in carbon dioxide and nickel but poor in water and iron; its light is polarized in an extreme way; its jets seem to push both toward and away from the Sun; and its motion suggests strong jets without the object breaking apart. Each of these oddities might be rare but still natural on its own. In this paper we ask a simple question: how likely is it that all of them happen together just by chance? Using standard probability tools and computer simulations, we combine the odds for each unusual feature and also allow for generous ways in which some of them might be related. Even under assumptions that strongly favor a natural explanation, the chance that a random interstellar object would look as strange as 3I/ATLAS is extremely small. A dice analogy helps. With a normal 6-sided die, the chance that you get the same number on all 20 throws is about one in 3.6×1015 (roughly one in three million billion). With a 20-sided die, the chance that the same face appears on all 20 throws is about one in 5 × 1021. The combined anomalies of 3I/ATLAS are even less likely than those events under the natural assumptions we test. Our results do not prove that 3I/ATLAS was designed by someone, but they show that either we have witnessed a remarkable fluke of nature or we should seriously consider the possibility of intentional origin. What realistic generative process — natural or not — actually makes it easy to get this whole bundle of features at once?
